Systems Technician – Automation and Newtrax

About the role

You will deliver technical support, commissioning, maintenance and repair services for Sandvik’s AutoMine® and Newtrax productivity and collision‑avoidance systems across an established customer base in the mining sector.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain and repair AutoMine® and Newtrax systems on customer sites and in Sandvik workshops.
• Provide high‑level technical support, diagnosing and resolving complex system and equipment issues in the field.
• Perform inspections, planned maintenance and repairs on specialised mining equipment such as drill rigs, loaders and trucks.
• Conduct fault finding and failure analysis to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Support field trials, testing and commissioning of new products and system upgrades.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, ensuring clear communication and effective issue resolution.
• Collaborate with internal Automation, Engineering and Service teams to share insights and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Technically skilled and safety‑focused professional with experience supporting electrical, mechanical or automation systems in mining or heavy‑industrial environments.
• Strong diagnostic abilities, able to work independently and collaboratively under high‑pressure site conditions.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, organised approach to workload management.
• Right to live and work in Australia and able to complete a pre‑employment medical.
