Sous Chef

About the role

Oversee the daily communications and operations of the kitchen in collaboration with the Head Chef. Liaise daily with the culinary team regarding food production, set‑ups and timings for events. Plan and execute team‑building activities so associates feel valued for their contributions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily kitchen communications and operations alongside the Head Chef.
• Liaise with the culinary team on food production, set‑ups and event timings.
• Plan and deliver team‑building activities to enhance associate engagement.
• Assist the Head Chef in maintaining quality, consistency and production standards.
• Keep the kitchen section clean and efficient throughout service periods.
• Understand guest requirements and deliver service excellence.
• Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety, hygiene and HACCP standards.
• Contribute to menu design and outlet concepts, inspiring creativity.

Required profile

• Trade industry qualification or completion of a Commercial Cookery qualification.
• Passion for the hospitality industry.
• Relevant experience in a similar sous‑chef role.
• Legal working rights in Australia.
• Enthusiastic about career progression.
• Self‑motivated, driven and energized in a fast‑paced environment.
