Site Supervisor

About the role

Hickory is looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to join the team on a hyperscale data centre project in Truganina, Melbourne. You will be responsible for overseeing daily site activities, ensuring the project stays on schedule, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily site programming in line with the Hickory construction programme.
• Collaborate with the Site Manager, Project Manager, Project Coordinator and broader project team to plan and assess progress.
• Optimise site resources – labour, machinery, materials and subcontractors – to meet project timelines.
• Ensure hired equipment is returned promptly after use.
• Facilitate the delivery of client or authority documents to the Project Manager.
• Identify and document potential contract variations and notify the relevant manager.
• Enforce Hickory’s quality control systems on site.
• Monitor safety compliance, use of safety equipment and report unsafe conditions.
• Coach and mentor direct reports to support their professional development.
• Delegate tasks effectively and maintain clear communication with the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing daily site operations on construction projects.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively with multiple project stakeholders.
• Effective resource planning and optimisation skills.
• Knowledge of quality control procedures and safety regulations.
• Experience identifying and reporting contract variations.
• Leadership qualities with a focus on coaching team members.
