Shift Technician – Hotel Engineering

About the role

As a Shift Technician in the Engineering team at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour, you will ensure that all guest rooms, public areas and service facilities are maintained to the highest standards of luxury, safety and comfort. Your proactive approach will help deliver a seamless and memorable experience for every guest.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, painting and HVAC systems.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment, machinery and building systems to prevent issues.
• Respond promptly to guest and staff service requests.
• Manage tools, supplies and materials efficiently.
• Assist with event set‑ups and room configurations.
• Ensure all work complies with safety protocols and regulatory standards.

• Proactive and self‑motivated with a strong pride in maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently during shift hours.
• Good communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and support hotel operations.
