Senior Tax Director – Build New Tax Division

About the role

Simic Financial is launching a dedicated tax arm and needs a Senior Tax Director to build the function from the ground up. You will design procedures, set standards, and lead a team while leveraging an existing client base.

Key responsibilities

• Establish the tax division, including systems, workflows, compliance frameworks and quality‑control procedures.
• Take full responsibility for tax compliance and advisory across complex multi‑entity groups ($1 m–$50 m turnover).
• Lead complex technical work such as restructures, rollovers and ASIC compliance.
• Provide proactive tax planning and structuring advice that complements the CFO Advisory team.
• Recruit, train and manage a growing tax team.
• Partner with the CFO Advisory division to convert and onboard existing clients.
• Implement and own the firm’s tax technology stack, centred on Xero Tax.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior tax roles handling complex, multi‑entity groups.
• Proven ability to design and implement tax processes and controls.
• Leadership experience with hiring and developing tax professionals.
• Strong commercial mindset and ability to work collaboratively with CFO advisors.
