Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

McNamara & Company Chartered Accountants is seeking a full‑time Senior Tax Accountant to join our Richmond office. You will lead the preparation and review of tax returns, ensure compliance with current tax legislation, and provide strategic tax advice to a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual, business and self‑managed super fund tax returns.
• Ensure all tax filings comply with the latest Australian tax laws and regulations.
• Prepare financial statements and support clients with accurate reporting.
• Deliver strategic tax planning and advisory services to optimise client outcomes.
• Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and timely service delivery.

Required profile

• Proficiency in tax compliance and tax preparation.
• Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws and regulations.
• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements.
• Expertise in general accounting practices and principles.
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and client‑relationship skills.
• CPA or CA certification preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Experience with self‑managed super funds is a plus.
