Senior Support Technician

About the role

First Focus is looking for a seasoned Senior Support Technician to become the trusted voice for key clients in Christchurch. You will combine deep technical expertise with strong client communication to keep complex environments running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Provide calm, expert support for Microsoft AD, Azure, M365, Exchange and Windows Server environments.
• Maintain hybrid cloud solutions including Azure, VMware and Citrix.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across desktops, servers, networks and backup systems.
• Participate in project deployments without needing hand‑holding.
• Build strong relationships so clients request you by name.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and solutions experts to keep environments secure and efficient.

Required profile

• Extensive infrastructure knowledge from desktops to firewalls, LAN/WAN.
• Strong grasp of Windows Server, Azure AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP and messaging platforms.
• Experience with virtualization (Hyper‑V, VMware) and backup technologies (Veeam, Datto, StorageCraft).
• Excellent client‑focused communication and complex problem‑solving abilities.
• Familiarity with ticketing and remote tools such as ConnectWise, Labtech or Kaseya.
