Senior Project Scheduler - Production Planning

About the role

Saab Australia is hiring a Senior Project Scheduler (Production Planning) for its Combat Systems Integration - Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT). The team executes work for Hobart Class Destroyer upgrades and Hunter Class Frigate projects. The scheduler is accountable for developing, updating and maintaining the Integrated Supplementary Production and Maintenance Schedules and the associated performance baseline.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Integrated Supplementary Schedule for production, test and maintenance activities, and the Performance Measurement Baseline.
• Analyse and report on the schedule critical path, critical activities and milestones, and manage schedule health.
• Develop and maintain resource demand and utilisation data for capacity planning, and prepare reports on delivery performance, schedule adherence and resource capacity.
• Provide scheduling advice to the Test and Production Team and ensure schedules map vertically to the Master Schedule.
• Integrate schedules into Project Controls, Tasking Statement and Task Management reporting systems, and interface them with external party schedules.
• Work with stakeholders to improve schedule adherence and contribute to continuous improvement of planning.

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years' experience as a Project Scheduler on medium to high complexity projects.
• Knowledge of project performance measurement using Earned Management and of project controls methodologies.
• Experience in a defence acquisition environment, a maintenance/production/test environment, or a project-oriented organisation is desirable.
• Australian citizen holding or able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.

• MS Excel 2016 data model and Power BI.
• Project management software, preferably Open Plan Professional and MS Project.
• Cost management software, preferably COBRA.
• Spreadsheets and databases, analytical and problem-solving skills.
