Senior Ports & Marine Structural Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Marine Structures Engineer you will join Aurecon’s global centre of excellence in Ports, Marine & Coastal, working on some of Australia’s most significant port, maritime and shipyard projects. You will help shape, study and deliver infrastructure that supports defence, resources, green energy and commercial shipping.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and analysis of marine and port structures across all project phases.
• Deliver major defence shipyard projects, port authority initiatives and maritime infrastructure for resources and energy clients.
• Provide engineering solutions for container terminals, public maritime facilities and offshore wind support structures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce award‑winning engineering outcomes.
• Ensure sustainability and technical excellence are embedded in every decision.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years experience as a maritime structural engineer.
• Proven track record on large‑scale ports, marine or defence shipyard projects.
• Strong teamwork orientation and a passion for innovative, sustainable solutions.

Required skills

• Structural analysis and design of marine structures.
• Design of ports, coastal and offshore infrastructure.
• Knowledge of relevant maritime and structural engineering codes and standards.
• Experience delivering projects from concept through construction and commissioning.
