Senior Mainframe CICS/MQ Administrator – Melbourne

About the role

We are looking for a senior Mainframe CICS/MQ Administrator to join Infosys’ delivery team in Melbourne. The role involves designing, implementing and supporting high‑performance CICS and MQ environments on z/OS, ensuring reliability and continuous improvement across large‑scale enterprise systems.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, configure and maintain CICS regions and MQ queues on z/OS platforms.
• Plan and execute system upgrades, patches and migrations while minimizing downtime.
• Automate routine operational tasks using scripting or mainframe automation tools.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot incidents and optimise resource utilisation.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to deliver end‑to‑end mainframe solutions.
• Document procedures, standards and best practices for CICS/MQ operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a CICS and MQ administrator on z/OS environments.
• Strong background in mainframe system upgrades and performance tuning.
• Ability to lead delivery in complex, large‑scale projects.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and focus on operational excellence.
