Senior Lecturer – Teaching Excellence

About the role

The University of Wollongong is seeking a senior academic leader to drive teaching excellence across the institution. Reporting to the Educational Innovation & Enablement team, the Senior Lecturer will shape university‑wide initiatives that enhance pedagogical practice, curriculum design and assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with educators, academic leaders and specialist teams to improve teaching quality and scholarly practice.
• Design, implement and evaluate professional learning programmes, peer‑review processes and recognition pathways for staff at all career stages.
• Lead evidence‑informed innovation in pedagogy, curriculum development and assessment strategies.
• Foster a connected culture of teaching excellence and contribute scholarly insight to keep university approaches contemporary.
• Engage with external higher‑education sectors to align practices with emerging trends.

Required profile

• Doctoral qualification with a strong record in higher‑education learning and teaching.
• Demonstrated experience leading initiatives that strengthen teaching quality, educator capability or scholarly teaching practice.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, with a commitment to equity, inclusion and student experience.
