Senior Lecturer in Architectural Practice (3 positions)

About the role

The Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning invites experienced practitioners to join its teaching team as Senior Lecturers in Architectural Practice. These part‑time, fixed‑term appointments (0.2–0.4 FTE) run for two years and support the delivery of a nationally recognised architecture programme.

Key responsibilities

• Make independent, original, and innovative contributions to research and education that expand knowledge or practice in architecture.
• Coordinate and develop curricula and programmes, including large award programmes and smaller specialised units.
• Lead design studio sessions and mentor students in architectural practice.
• Participate in academic governance, engagement, and administrative duties.

Required profile

• Proven track record of high‑quality, independent practice in architecture.
• Extensive experience teaching at university level, particularly in architectural design studios.
• Demonstrated success in designing, implementing, and evaluating innovative teaching and learning initiatives.
• Collegial approach with a willingness to mentor, contribute to governance, and engage with industry partners.
• Developing network of relationships with academic, industry, and professional institutions.

• Base salary pro‑rated between $162,347 and $187,198 per annum plus 17% superannuation.
