Senior Estimator

About the role

The Senior Estimator will own end‑to‑end cost estimation for residential construction projects, from feasibility studies through to signed contracts. You will produce accurate, fully‑detailed estimates and purchase orders that minimise variation during construction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity take‑offs from architectural, structural, engineering and soil reports.
• Build full estimates using the company cost code structure, covering single dwellings, townhouses, dual‑occupancy and related products.
• Review drawings, specifications and permit documents for gaps, clashes and buildability issues before pricing.
• Issue scopes of work to trades and suppliers, analyse quotes and maintain up‑to‑date rate libraries.
• Present estimates with clear assumptions, exclusions and risk allowances, and hand over approved budgets to pre‑construction and procurement teams.
• Support variation pricing, post‑contract cost queries and review actual versus estimated costs to improve future rates.
• Maintain all estimating data within the company platform, ensuring version control and auditability.

Required profile

• BSc/BE in Civil Engineering.
• 3–4 years estimating experience in residential construction.
• Demonstrated experience working to Australian Standards.
• Proven take‑off and pricing capability across full trade scope.
• Prior experience with estimation software (e.g., Constructors) is a plus.
