Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Industrial

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Instrumentation & Control Systems) to join its Gladstone team. You will contribute to industrial projects that shape Queensland’s future, working in a collaborative environment that values innovative solutions and sustainable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of instrumentation, control and communication systems across complex industrial projects.
• Act as a trusted I&C technical specialist, advising on system architecture, integration and best practice.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and process teams to deliver seamless multidisciplinary solutions.
• Mentor and develop less‑experienced engineers, building team capability and technical excellence.
• Oversee project delivery, managing schedule, budget, quality and risk.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to winning and growing project opportunities.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• RPEQ (Electrical) or ITEE equivalent.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering with a strong focus on instrumentation.
• Proven track record of delivering practical, impactful outcomes.
• Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to see the big picture and challenge assumptions.
