Senior Drupal Web Developer (Contract)

About the role

The client is looking for an experienced Senior Drupal Web Developer on a 6‑month contract (with a possible 6‑month extension). The role is hybrid, based in Canberra or Melbourne, and requires Australian citizenship. You will work within a small web team delivering a newly transitioned government website.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and development support for a complex website project.
• Maintain and improve existing internal and external online platforms.
• Develop new features, visual interfaces, and backend functionality.
• Track, respond to, and resolve web issues in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Assist in preparing procurement documentation and technical requirements.
• Publish website content following Australian Government standards for security, performance, and accessibility.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in Drupal website development and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of Australian government operating environments, including security, performance, and accessibility best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders.
• Australian citizenship is mandatory.
