Senior Advisor – Data Governance

About the role

The Senior Advisor – Data Governance will support the T&C division in organising, managing and leveraging data to meet current and future requirements. You will act as the central point of contact for data risk and governance, aligning initiatives with the ANZ Risk Framework.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of data risk frameworks and strengthen data governance (quality, lineage, controls).
• Partner with T&C business, legal, data office, privacy office and technology partners to design and embed effective data controls.
• Lead data risk assessments and identify risks across systems, processes and value chains.
• Review control effectiveness, identify gaps and drive remediation actions.
• Support regulatory change, compliance and responsible data use, including privacy and AI governance.
• Monitor data risk using NFR analytics, trends and key risk indicators.
• Develop and maintain metrics and tools to measure data risk and control effectiveness.
• Provide risk insights and reporting to data owners and senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data governance and risk management within a financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of data risk frameworks and the ANZ Risk Framework.
• Ability to collaborate with legal, privacy, technology and business teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
