Secondary History & Geography Teacher

About the role

Reddam House Sydney, part of the Inspired Education group of premium private schools, is looking for a Secondary History & Geography Teacher. The teacher guides students from Year 7 to Year 12 in one or more subjects aligned with the NESA curriculum, in a 12-month fixed-term contract starting Term 1, 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Geography and History lessons for middle and senior school that match the school's curriculum, policies and external assessment requirements, and individualise learning for each student.
• Assess students' in-class and at-home learning regularly, give targeted feedback and support progress, including in external assessments.
• Create a classroom and school environment where students feel valued, supported and ready to take risks.
• Work with colleagues, share best practice and pursue your own professional development.
• Take an active part in co-curricular activities, from leading clubs to whole-school initiatives.
• Maintain open, constructive communication with parents and build strong partnerships.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for education and the ability to engage and motivate young people.
• In-depth expertise in the subject and a proven track record of excellence.
• Experience in pastoral care and promoting student wellbeing.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills, able to plan, prioritise and work under pressure.
• PGCE, QTS or equivalent, with excellent academic credentials and, ideally, evidence of post-graduate study.
