Secondary Electrical Drafter

About the role

CPP, a high-voltage infrastructure provider and member of Quanta Services, is looking for a Drafter - Secondary to join its engineering team in Adelaide. The role supports renewable energy and high-voltage infrastructure projects across Australia, working closely with secondary engineers and technical officers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed design packages covering protection and SCADA systems, interlocking, single line diagrams, panel layouts, AC/DC schematics and switchroom documentation.
• Check drawings against client requirements and relevant standards before they are issued for manufacturing and construction.
• Assist with tender designs and help project managers and engineers resolve technical issues.
• Coordinate documentation with clients, suppliers and third parties.

Required profile

• Experience in secondary electrical drafting, including protection relays, SCADA and switchroom documentation.
• Experience with Australian utility standards or renewable grid connection projects.
• Experience in the utilities or renewable energy industry is highly regarded but not essential.
• Relevant tertiary studies are favourable but not essential; a trade background complemented by recent studies or drafting experience is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with drafting software.
• Ability to interpret and apply design information from key stakeholders with the end user in mind.
