Science Tutor

About the role

Matrix Education is hiring Science Tutors for its Castle Hill, Chatswood, Epping, Strathfield or Parramatta campus. The role suits an undergraduate student who wants a stable tutoring job alongside their studies, working regular days throughout the year. Students are booked for you and bring their own work and science questions, so timetable administration and preparation is minimal.

Key responsibilities

• Run one-on-one workshops with Year 9 to 12 science students
• Mark exams and homework booklets
• Provide extra administrative support to science teachers
• Carry out ad hoc duties asked by the senior tutors

Required profile

• Band 6 HSC results in at least two of Physics, Biology and/or Chemistry
• Passion for science and teaching
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• At least six months of ongoing work experience in retail, hospitality or customer service
• Current tertiary study in science, engineering, mathematics or education-related fields is highly regarded
