Reliability Engineer

About the role

Liontown is expanding its technical team at the Kathleen Valley operation as it moves into full‑scale production. The Reliability Engineer will provide technical expertise in designing, modifying and optimising mechanical assets, ensuring safe and reliable equipment performance across the mine.

Key responsibilities

• Improve asset reliability and performance to boost availability and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Lead defect elimination and root‑cause analysis, applying sustainable corrective actions.
• Implement condition monitoring and predictive maintenance programmes for early fault detection.
• Optimise maintenance strategies and spare parts inventories based on criticality, risk and cost.
• Analyse data, generate reports and insights to support continuous improvement and decision‑making.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, planning and external stakeholders to align reliability initiatives with site priorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Electrical Engineering qualifications are a plus.
• Professional engineering recognition (RPEng, CPEng) desirable.
• Experience in asset reliability, maintenance engineering or performance improvement within mining or other asset‑intensive environments.
• Proven ability to apply reliability engineering principles to increase equipment availability.
• Experience with structured defect elimination programmes, FMEA, criticality analysis, RCA and downtime investigations.
• C Class driver’s licence and ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.
