Registered Nurse - Operating Theatre (Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular & Renal Transplant)

About the role

Sydney Local Health District is recruiting a Registered Nurse for its operating theatre team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH), a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital. The nurse performs instrumentation and circulating nurse roles for Cardiothoracic, Vascular and Renal Transplant surgery. The position is permanent and full time.

Key responsibilities

• Perform instrumentation and circulating nurse roles in the operating theatre.
• Provide patient-centred, evidence-informed nursing care that promotes identified health outcomes.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with patients and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Required profile

• Recent operating theatre experience.
• Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Demonstrated understanding of evidence-informed practice and critical thinking.
• Australian citizenship, permanent residency or Australian work rights.
• Ability to work a 7-day rotating roster with remote call.
