Regional Truck Sales Representative - Heavy Vehicle

About the role

A major heavy vehicle dealership is seeking a Truck Sales Representative to take responsibility for an established and productive Rockhampton territory. The market accounts for about 50 to 60 truck sales per year, offering a strong platform for an experienced salesperson or industry professional. You will spend much of your time in the market meeting customers, understanding their operations and providing truck solutions suited to their needs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships with existing customers and identify new business opportunities across the region
• Prepare quotations and manage opportunities through the sales process
• Maintain a strong presence in the local market
• Work alongside a dedicated Truck Sales Coordinator who supports customer relationships, business development and sales growth

Required profile

• Previous truck sales experience is highly regarded; candidates from agriculture, heavy plant and equipment, light trucks and automotive sales are also considered
• Candidates without direct sales experience may be considered if they understand heavy truck components and systems well, have good commercial awareness and the communication skills to build lasting customer relationships
• Self-motivated, able to develop new business and manage a regional customer base with a high degree of autonomy
• Strong negotiation skills, customer-focused approach and a current driver's licence
• Must be physically located in Australia and an Australian or New Zealand citizen or hold a permanent residency visa; only applicants with relevant industry experience will be acknowledged

What we offer

• Base salary of $75,000 to $80,000 plus a fully maintained company vehicle
• Commission based on truck gross profit, with additional incentives for finance penetration and conquest customers
• Total earnings of around $200,000 including base, with further upside depending on targets
