About the role
The Department of Education Staffing Services Directorate is building a pool of Recruitment Officers to support Western Australian public schools and departmental offices. The role involves facilitating the recruitment and appointment of staff for permanent, fixed‑term, full‑time and part‑time positions from July 2026 to July 2027.
Key responsibilities
- Assist school principals and line managers with end‑to‑end recruitment processes.
- Respond to applicant enquiries and guide them through the application procedure.
- Provide compliant, client‑focused advice based on recruitment policies and the new Public Sector Commission instructions.
- Maintain accurate records and transact daily in the department’s recruitment system.
- Collaborate with regional, metropolitan and central services teams to achieve hiring outcomes.
Required profile
- Strong organisational abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and external clients.
- Previous experience in recruitment or another human‑resource function is highly desirable.
Required skills
- Proficiency in using the department’s recruitment system (computer literacy).
