Quality Control Officer – Fruit & Veg

About the role

Join Woolworths Group’s Fruit & Veg team as a Quality Control Officer at the Tasmania Distribution Centre (Western Junction). You will lead quality assurance activities for the 32 stores we service, ensuring fresh produce meets company standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and assess fruit and vegetable deliveries to the distribution centre for compliance with quality and labeling specifications.
• Validate products against Woolworths quality assurance standards and relevant government legislation.
• Manage banana and avocado ripening processes to achieve optimal quality and colour.
• Collaborate with the Commercial Buying Team to source the best quality produce for store operations.
• Report to the Senior Quality Control Officer and work with buying teams to deliver safe, quality products in line with KPIs.
• Demonstrate flexibility, drive productivity and foster a positive team environment.
• Assist leadership with key metrics, ways of working and provide constructive feedback for development.

• Proven ability to lead and inspire a diverse team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work collaboratively with buying, distribution and store teams.
• Passion for delivering great customer experiences.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
