Project Manager – Planning for Restaurant Development

About the role

McDonald's Australia is seeking a Project Manager (Planning) to lead the Development Application (DA) phase for new restaurant sites across Queensland. You will work within the National Development Group, supporting the company’s aggressive growth targets by ensuring timely and compliant planning approvals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and accelerate the DA phase for the new restaurant pipeline.
• Coordinate with consultants including legal, town planning, acoustic, engineering and architectural teams.
• Maintain relationships with local councils, attend and present at council/panel meetings.
• Secure council approvals for portfolio reinvestments.
• Review application packages before lodgement and provide feedback on design and planning considerations.
• Gather information and advise on planning issues for proposed, existing or leased sites.
• Report development progress and milestones to internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Town Planning.
• Minimum 5 years experience managing development applications.
• Exposure to the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry.
• Strong organisational and project‑management abilities with a focus on meeting deadlines.
