Project Manager – Complex Recovery Programs

About the role

We are looking for a Project Manager to lead high‑impact recovery programmes that deliver environmental and community outcomes. This position sits within a State Government environment, offering a fast‑paced, purpose‑driven setting where you will manage complex, multi‑stakeholder projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end delivery of complex recovery projects and programmes, ensuring they meet time, budget and objective targets.
• Oversee contractor performance, risk, compliance and on‑ground works.
• Provide strategic oversight across concurrent initiatives to maintain consistency and governance.
• Analyse project data and produce clear, actionable reports and briefings.
• Identify, assess and mitigate risks, issues and dependencies proactively.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, councils and delivery partners.
• Support and mentor team members to drive performance and successful outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering complex projects or programmes, preferably in a government setting.
• Strong project management capabilities with a track record of on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into insights.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑moving environment.
• Experience in disaster recovery, environmental or infrastructure programmes is highly desirable.
