Project Engineer – Defence Infrastructure

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of critical defence infrastructure within the Australian Naval Infrastructure (ANI) South Australia program. The role involves hands‑on planning, cost control and site delivery of multidisciplinary civil and structural works in a highly regulated defence environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery of multidisciplinary scopes across roads, bulk earthworks and structural bridge components.
• Assist with programming and short‑term/look‑ahead planning activities.
• Contribute to cost management, project controls and forecasting.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, tracking performance.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure constructability, compliance and value for money.
• Implement and maintain stringent quality‑assurance processes aligned with defence standards.
• Develop construction methods and sequencing to optimise cost and time.
• Prepare reports and communicate effectively with project teams and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in civil engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 + years of site‑based delivery experience.
• Proven experience delivering roads, bulk earthworks, structures or multidisciplinary civil scopes.
• Strong understanding of project programming, cost control and forecasting.
• Experience working with subcontractors on live construction sites.
