Procurement Specialist – Government Contracting

About the role

KBR is seeking a diligent Procurement Specialist to join its National Security Solutions team. In this role you will support the procurement of goods, services, and equipment for critical defense and intelligence projects, ensuring compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate favorable terms, volume discounts, and long‑term contracts with suppliers.
• Manage purchases for both customer‑related and internal business processes.
• Address defects and delivery issues, negotiating refunds when necessary.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, warehouse, and engineering to schedule and move goods.
• Review and approve supplier invoices in partnership with Accounts Payable.
• Provide input for supplier performance evaluations and guide junior team members.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency due to sensitivity of information.
• Undergraduate degree and at least 5 years of procurement experience.
• Strong organizational, detail‑oriented, and time‑management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Thorough understanding of FAR, DFARS, and NAICS regulations.
