Principal Technology Architect - AI

About the role

Infosys is looking for a Senior / Principal Architect (AI) to act as a trusted advisor and technical visionary for its enterprise clients across many industries. The role leads high-impact AI engagements, from strategy and ideation through architecture, implementation and scaling, bridging business vision and deep technology execution. It is based in Sydney or Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with CxOs and senior technology leaders to define AI transformation roadmaps, enterprise AI strategy and operating models.
• Run design thinking sessions and co-innovation workshops with clients to identify AI opportunities.
• Design target-state AI architectures covering model lifecycle, agentic systems and cloud-native AI platforms.
• Design AI infrastructure blueprints for data, compute, GPU/TPU capacity, observability and security.
• Lead solutioning across financial services, manufacturing, retail, telecom and public sector.
• Set up frameworks for responsible AI, model risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Represent the firm in client advisory councils, forums and conferences, and mentor solution architects and engineers.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Enterprise/Principal Architect or equivalent senior advisory role in AI, cloud or digital transformation.
• 18+ years in technology or solutions architecture, with 3+ years in AI-led transformation roles.
• Experience across at least three major verticals, with consulting or advisory background.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, AI/ML or a related field preferred; English communication required.

Required skills

• Generative AI, agentic systems, predictive analytics and intelligent automation.
• GPU/TPU capacity, model serving, orchestration, data pipelines and observability tools such as Ray, Kubernetes and MLflow.
• AWS, Azure and GCP, and hybrid architectures for AI workloads.
• Enterprise governance, capacity planning and FinOps.

• Salary of AUD 212,505 to 246,693 annual gross (indicative).
