Principal Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Ivory Group, an established national consultancy serving commercial, residential, health, defence, aged care, data centre and education sectors, is looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer in Sydney. The role centres on managing multidisciplinary building services projects and leading a team, taking ownership of project planning, resourcing and technical delivery while supporting staff development and engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the mechanical team
• Oversee project delivery from concept to completion
• Drive quality assurance and consistency across documentation and deliverables
• Support project teams with technical input, calculations and reporting
• Communicate with external stakeholders across all disciplines
• Contribute to fee proposals, resource planning and project strategy
• Oversee staff performance, technical development and mentorship

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Proven experience managing a team in a building services environment
• Strong communication and leadership skills
