Principal Engineer – Reliability, Availability & Maintainability

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a seasoned RAM Principal Engineer to shape the Reliability, Availability and Maintainability strategy for its infrastructure assets across the Eastern States of Australia. Reporting to the Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance Manager, you will influence design, procurement, construction and commissioning decisions on multiple M&E projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement RAM strategies throughout the full asset lifecycle.
• Manage complex system designs from concept through validation, resolving design conflicts to meet performance and regulatory standards.
• Lead value engineering, whole‑of‑life assessments and ensure compliance with design controls and safety‑in‑design requirements.
• Provide technical governance, mentorship and problem‑solving across cost, schedule and quality constraints.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
• 15+ years delivering RAM on regulated infrastructure projects.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or ability to obtain within three months.
• Experience working on large‑scale renewable energy, water or infrastructure projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency with RAM software such as Isograph or ReliaSoft (or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of reliability, availability and maintainability principles.
• Ability to apply systems‑engineering thinking to improve asset performance.
