Power Generation Engineer – Wind

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Power Generation Engineer with a focus on wind technology to join its Power Generation team in Brisbane. You will work closely with clients and multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver wind farm projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring technical excellence and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert technical input across all project stages, from feasibility and design to construction and commissioning.
• Act as Owner’s Engineer technical lead, reviewing turbine supplier designs, balance‑of‑plant engineering and performance models.
• Develop and review project documentation such as technical specifications, tender evaluations and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with environment, planning and multidisciplinary teams on wind farm layouts, turbine siting, access roads and electrical infrastructure.
• Support clients through technical due diligence, design reviews, construction monitoring and commissioning verification.
• Stay current with evolving wind technologies, regulations and industry best practices.

Required profile

• 7–15 years of experience in a similar technical role.
• Strong understanding of wind turbine technology, electrical systems, grid connections and civil/structural interfaces.
• Background in renewable energy, mechanical or civil engineering with demonstrated technical leadership.
• Knowledge of IEC and ISO standards and relevant health, safety and environmental regulations.
