Physical Security Specialist – Sydney Campus

About the role

Canva is looking for a Physical Security Specialist to join its Sydney campus team. You will help protect people, spaces and assets by implementing emergency preparedness and responding to safety and security incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of Canva’s emergency preparedness, security and safety incident response plans.
• Investigate, document and report safety and security incidents.
• Develop, maintain and update campus safety and security policies and procedures.
• Act as the primary contact for onsite campus teams and security vendors on security and safety matters.
• Design and deliver safety and security training programmes for staff and campus users.
• Monitor security trends and provide regular reports.
• Administer the incident reporting system and ensure continuous improvement.
• Stay current with industry best practices and emerging safety and security standards.

Required profile

• Background in security operations and risk management, preferably across multiple sites.
• Proven experience developing and maintaining security and safety policies.
• Hands‑on experience in physical security or safety incident management, including post‑incident reviews.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of relevant safety and security regulations such as AS 3745‑2010.
• Experience delivering training or security‑focused awareness activities is a plus.
