Operations Manager

About the role

Paintback is seeking an Operations Manager to lead its Braeside manufacturing and recycling facility. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will own day‑to‑day site operations, drive performance across safety, quality, cost and environmental outcomes, and shape the future of paint recovery in Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the manufacturing facility and pilot plant.
• Drive performance metrics for safety, quality, cost, delivery and environmental impact.
• Build and embed operational systems, governance frameworks and performance measures.
• Oversee manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, planning and logistics activities.
• Support the Safety Manager and enhance HSEQ compliance and risk management.
• Manage supplier and contractor relationships to ensure stewardship and operational results.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and recovery rates.
• Coach and develop a high‑performing team, fostering accountability, engagement and safety.
• Manage budgets, reporting and cost‑centre accountability.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in manufacturing, processing, recycling, chemicals, industrial or FMCG environments.
• Strong exposure to safety, quality and compliance‑driven operations.
• Experience leading engineering, maintenance, manufacturing and operational teams.
• Track record of driving operational improvement and building high‑performing cultures.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Commercial acumen with budget and performance management experience.
• Hands‑on, visible leadership style balancing strategic thinking with day‑to‑day execution.
