Neonatal Intensive Care Registered Nurse

About the role

Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg is recruiting a Registered Nurse for its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The unit has 61 cots and cares for over 1500 newborns a year, from 22 weeks' gestation, and is described as one of Australia's leading NICUs. Positions are available full time or part time, on 8-hour or 12-hour rosters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for newborns admitted to the service
• Deliver intensive care support using state-of-the-art equipment and best practice
• Care for newborns requiring ventilation, multi-organ support, nutrition and developmental care
• Integrate family-centred care into the care plan

Required profile

• Registered nurse with a commitment to the best care for newborns and their families
• Good communication skills, teamwork and adaptability
• Driven by professional growth and evidence-based practice
• Current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check, and proof of vaccination status consistent with public health orders and Mercy Health policy
