Medical Advisor, Aesthetics

About the role

Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company, develops, manufactures and markets a portfolio of aesthetics brands including facial injectables, body contouring, plastics and skin care. It is looking for a Medical Advisor to join its ANZ Medical Affairs team from a new office in Sydney CBD. The role influences medical strategy, works with leading aesthetic physicians and specialists across Australia and New Zealand, and drives education, scientific engagement and clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Associate Director, Medical Affairs, ANZ to define priorities, strategy and execution plans for the therapeutic area
• Lead the Medical Affairs plan, translating it into field activities and stakeholder engagement plans across ANZ
• Provide medical leadership to Medical Science Liaison activities and act as a senior scientific resource for healthcare professionals, KOLs and other stakeholders
• Lead non-promotional scientific exchange, education and training, and run speaker programs, advisory activities and scientific meetings
• Identify and engage key opinion leaders and other stakeholders, and lead stakeholder and territory planning
• Manage a predominantly customer-facing role (about 65% of time with KOLs and healthcare professionals) with travel across ANZ expected
• Report adverse events within 24 hours, follow WHS and compliance policies, and contribute to medical content for promotional and educational materials

Required profile

• Science degree; B Pharm, Nursing, Pharm D, MSc or PhD preferred
• Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience; experience in pharma or medical devices, overseas education or work, and prior customer-facing experience highly regarded
• Minimum 2 years in a medical affairs team
• Ability to travel about 50% of the time across ANZ
