Manager Work Health Safety & Injury Management

About the role

Resthaven is seeking an experienced, people‑focused Manager of Work Health Safety (WHS) and Injury Management to lead safety, wellbeing and recovery across its aged‑care and community services operations in South Australia. Reporting to the Executive Manager People and Culture, you will shape a proactive safety culture while partnering with operational leaders to deliver practical, sustainable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement organisation‑wide WHS and injury‑management strategies.
• Lead a specialist WHS and injury‑management team.
• Support leaders in building safe, compliant, and psychologically healthy workplaces.
• Oversee workers‑compensation, return‑to‑work, and injury‑management processes.
• Lead incident investigations, corrective actions, and risk‑mitigation activities.
• Monitor WHS performance, trends, risks and compliance outcomes.
• Design and improve WHS systems, policies, audit programmes and reporting frameworks.
• Partner with operational teams to embed practical safety solutions across diverse environments.
• Provide strategic advice to senior leadership and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Demonstrated senior leadership experience in WHS and injury management.
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, workers‑compensation and injury‑management frameworks.
• Proven ability to lead compliance, audit and continuous‑improvement programmes.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder‑engagement and negotiation skills.
• Experience working in complex, multi‑site environments, preferably in aged‑care, healthcare or community services.
• Relevant qualifications in WHS, Human Resources or a related discipline.
