Manager - Strategy & Operations

About the role

KPMG’s Enterprise Strategy and Operations team is seeking a Manager to lead high‑impact consulting engagements. You will work with large corporate, government and education clients across Australia to define strategy, improve performance and drive complex transformation programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of strategic and operational engagements, ensuring outcomes align with client objectives.
• Help clients articulate vision, set priorities and map pathways to growth or transformation.
• Develop business cases, including financial modelling, cost‑benefit analysis and investment prioritisation.
• Design and implement organisational and operational improvements such as process optimisation, workforce planning and service‑delivery redesign.
• Apply structured project and programme management disciplines to keep delivery on time, within scope and aligned to strategic outcomes.
• Build and manage senior client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, providing direction, coaching and performance management.
• Generate data‑driven insights through market research, stakeholder engagement and analysis.
• Contribute to practice growth through business development and capability development activities.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of experience in management consulting or a related strategy, operations or transformation role.
• Proven ability to lead end‑to‑end consulting engagements or major workstreams.
• Strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience applying consulting frameworks in ambiguous or complex environments.
• Demonstrated leadership and team‑development capabilities.
• Exposure to continuous‑improvement methodologies such as Agile, Lean or Six Sigma.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
