Manager - Security Operations Centre

About the role

ANZ is seeking a Manager for its Security Operations Centre (SOC) to lead the Australia‑based team within Group Cyber Security Operations. The SOC is a critical line of defence, responsible for detecting, investigating, containing and responding to cyber security threats that could impact customers, systems and data.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of SOC analysts, fostering an inclusive, high‑performing culture.
• Manage workforce capacity, operational readiness and 24/7 service delivery for security monitoring and incident response.
• Act as senior escalation point for complex investigations and major security incidents.
• Coordinate technical response activities across cyber, technology and business stakeholders.
• Drive threat detection, investigation, containment, remediation and recovery.
• Lead forensic investigations to determine root cause, attack path and business impact.
• Partner with Threat Intelligence, Detection Engineering, Red Team and Security Engineering to improve security capabilities.
• Translate incident learnings into enhanced detections, hunting opportunities, automation and response playbooks.
• Support governance, reporting and communication of cyber security risks to senior stakeholders.
• Contribute to the maturity and evolution of ANZ's global SOC capability.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading SOC or cyber security operations teams.
• Strong people‑leadership and coaching abilities.
• Deep technical cyber security expertise, especially in incident investigation and response.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple technical and business stakeholders during incidents.
• Experience working in a global, multi‑location environment.
