Manager – Business & Tax Advisory

About the role

KPMG is seeking an experienced Manager to lead its Business & Tax Advisory practice, focusing on China‑connected mid‑market and private clients in Australia. You will act as a trusted advisor, guiding clients through complex cross‑border tax and business challenges while supporting the growth of the China Business Practice.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of Australian and China‑linked clients, delivering tax and business advisory services including cross‑border structuring, investment planning, compliance and governance.
• Lead end‑to‑end project delivery: scoping, budgeting, resourcing, quality review and client communication.
• Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with CFOs, owners and board members.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities within existing and prospective China‑related clients.
• Collaborate with KPMG teams across Australia, China and the global network to provide integrated solutions.
• Coach, mentor and develop consultants and senior consultants in China‑focused work.

Required profile

• Significant experience in tax and business advisory, preferably with cross‑border or China‑related work.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage client engagements profitably.
• Proven people‑leadership skills, including coaching and team development.
• Excellent cross‑cultural communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of cross‑border and international tax structuring.
• Understanding of inbound and outbound investment planning and related regulatory frameworks.
• Familiarity with Australian and Chinese tax compliance and governance requirements.
