Manager, Assurance and Controls

About the role

As a Manager, Assurance and Controls within the Markets COO function at ANZ, you will design tactical and strategic solutions to mitigate risk and enhance end‑to‑end processes. You will work closely with Data Management and other stakeholders to drive continuous improvement across the institution.

Key responsibilities

• Develop solutions to improve processes and optimise performance, including metrics to address process and control gaps.
• Review control effectiveness, identify gaps and lead remediation activities.
• Monitor data risk using NFR analytics, trends and key risk indicators.
• Prepare ad‑hoc, weekly and monthly risk packs for senior management.
• Provide risk insights and reporting to management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on remediation and delivery of risk‑mitigation solutions.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in the banking or financial services sector.
• Understanding of audit, controls assessment and testing.
• Detail‑oriented strategic thinker comfortable in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
• Curiosity, adaptive and growth mindset.
