Management Accountant – Construction Business

About the role

This position is for a Management Accountant within a growing construction business in Morningside. You will support both financial and project accounting functions, working closely with operational teams in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end close activities, including journals, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Prepare management reports and provide project financial insights.
• Support work‑in‑progress (WIP), job costing and project tracking.
• Assist with cash‑flow forecasting and budgeting.
• Ensure compliance with BAS and statutory reporting requirements.
• Provide hands‑on support for accounts payable, invoice processing and reconciliations.
• Partner with operational teams to drive project outcomes and financial performance.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Accounting or Finance.
• CA/CPA qualified or working towards certification.
• 3–5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a project or operational setting.
• Exposure to construction or project‑based industries is desirable but not essential.
• Strong analytical ability and high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team‑first attitude.
