Locum Sonographer - Tennant Creek (Asap to 19 Nov)

About the role

A remote regional hospital in the Northern Territory is seeking a sole sonographer for an urgent assignment in Tennant Creek, running from ASAP until 19 November 2026. The position is a Monday to Friday roster, 8:00am to 4:00pm/4:30pm, with about 6-8 scans per day and on-call duties. Travel and accommodation are provided.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of approximately 6-8 patients per day, with a mix of general ultrasound and obstetric examinations
• Handle complex presentations when required, within a supportive multidisciplinary environment
• Work on the Canon Aplio i700 ultrasound system with limited MSK workload
• Meet on-call responsibilities

Required profile

• ASAR accreditation
• Ability to work independently as a sole sonographer
• Strong general ultrasound skills and obstetric scanning experience
• Comfortable working in a remote healthcare setting
• Eligible to meet hospital credentialing requirements
