Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Assessment and Clinical Education

About the role

The School of Medicine and Public Health seeks an experienced academic to join the Joint Medical Program as a Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) in Assessment and Clinical Education. This full‑time, contingent position will be based at John Hunter Hospital or the Central Coast Clinical School and involves teaching, research, and leadership aligned with the university’s strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, delivery and continuous improvement of evidence‑based assessment systems.
• Oversee quality assurance, data integrity, feedback mechanisms and the defensibility of assessment decisions.
• Support curriculum reform and innovate assessment practices.
• Manage assessment reporting, evaluation and improvement processes.
• Contribute to school governance, committees and academic leadership.
• Develop a research programme in medical education assessment.
• Potentially hold a clinical academic appointment for eligible candidates.

Required profile

• Doctoral or master’s qualification with professional registration (AHPRA) in a health discipline.
• Demonstrated teaching excellence and curriculum design experience.
• Track record of research publications and, for senior level, sustained national/international recognition.
• Experience supervising student or trainee research projects.
• Engagement in academic service and professional collaboration.
