Lawyer – Legal Counsel for AI‑Powered Marketplace
CORTO · Sydney
Job description
About the role
LawConnect is looking for a lawyer to join its AI‑driven legal marketplace. You will ensure that the product and content presented to consumers are legally sound while shaping the legal IP that powers the platform’s AI.
Key responsibilities
- Build and nurture relationships across the Australian legal ecosystem, including government bodies, legal aid commissions, community legal centres, professional bodies, and law firms.
- Help define and execute a partnership strategy, converting early interest into formal commercial agreements.
- Review LawConnect’s products, content, and user‑facing copy to guarantee legal accuracy and consumer usefulness.
- Develop the legal intellectual property that guides the AI, writing “skills” for scenarios such as separations, employment claims, and other consumer legal matters.
- Test the end‑to‑end product from a lawyer’s perspective, identifying AI strengths, weaknesses, and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with the existing ATI legal team on broader regulatory and compliance matters specific to LawConnect.
Required profile
- 3‑5 years of experience working in or closely with Australian law firms.
- Strong commercial instinct and confidence presenting to senior stakeholders, regulators, and government bodies.
- Genuine interest in legal technology and its impact on law‑firm operations.
- Proven ability to build and maintain external relationships.
- Comfort working cross‑functionally with product, engineering, and commercial teams.
