Lawyer – Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site Lawyer role is based in the Greater Perth Area, focusing on commercial litigation and dispute resolution for domestic and international clients. The successful candidate will manage a mixed portfolio of matters, draft pleadings, affidavits and settlement documents, and provide strategic advice on regulatory and compliance risks.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions.
• Draft and review pleadings, affidavits, contracts, correspondence and settlement documents.
• Advise clients on regulatory and compliance risks across various industries.
• Attend court appearances, mediations and negotiations as required.
• Collaborate closely with partners and colleagues, maintaining direct client contact.
• Proactively manage files to ensure timely, cost‑effective outcomes.
• Contribute to business development by nurturing referral relationships and enhancing the firm’s reputation.

Required profile

• Strong legal research, analytical reasoning and problem‑solving skills in commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
• Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including pleadings and advisory memoranda.
• Effective advocacy experience in negotiations, mediations and court appearances.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain complex legal issues clearly.
• Solid time‑management, organisation and matter‑management abilities, handling multiple files and deadlines.
• Demonstrated teamwork and ability to build strong client and referrer relationships.
• Admission as a lawyer in an Australian jurisdiction and eligibility to practice in Western Australia.
• Experience in commercial litigation, regulatory matters or dispute resolution, preferably within private practice.
• Commitment to professional ethics, continuous learning and staying up‑to‑date with relevant legislation and case law.
