IT Onsite Engineer – Desktop & Field Support

About the role

We are looking for an IT Onsite Engineer to provide desktop and field support for our enterprise clients in Sydney. The role is fully onsite, five days a week, and focuses on delivering fast, high‑quality assistance to end‑users.

Key responsibilities

• Provide onsite technical support for desktops, laptops, wireless devices, printers, VoIP telephony and remote connectivity.
• Configure, test and deploy new hardware and software, including imaging and device setup.
• Receive and respond to calls, emails, walk‑ups and tickets, creating and routing tickets to Level 2/3 teams when needed.
• Use remote‑access tools to diagnose and resolve issues on user machines.
• Troubleshoot local network connectivity (Wi‑Fi, LAN, VPN) and support enterprise system rollouts.
• Perform break/fix activities, asset inventory, device refresh and lifecycle management.
• Assist with conference‑room and AV equipment support.
• Follow ITIL processes for incident, request and escalation management, documenting resolutions and contributing to knowledge‑base articles.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in desktop/field support or similar role.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities and customer‑focused communication.
• Ability to work independently onsite and collaborate with remote teams.
• Familiarity with ITIL incident and request handling.
