Intelligence & Disruption Analyst

About the role

The Intelligence & Disruption Analyst works within ANZ’s Fraud Protection – Fraud Analytics team. You will help protect customers from cyber‑enabled fraud and scams by analysing threats, investigating incidents and supporting the optimisation of detection platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse cybercrime events such as phishing, malware and compromised credential activity targeting customers.
• Assist in automating and optimising intelligence and disruption analysis processes.
• Support investigations using behavioural biometric and fraud detection platforms.
• Gather, analyse and report emerging fraud and scam intelligence.
• Develop and maintain data queries, scripts and analytical processes for fraud detection.
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, attack vectors and improvement opportunities.
• Maintain relationships with technology vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to knowledge‑sharing and awareness activities across fraud prevention teams.

Required profile

• Solid understanding of digital fraud, scams, phishing attacks and malware campaigns.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on root‑cause identification.
• Foundational SQL knowledge for data extraction, manipulation and analysis.
• Foundational Python knowledge for scripting and automating repetitive tasks.
