Industrial Cleaner

About the role

The Industrial Cleaner ensures that shipyard walkways, stairwells, hardstand areas and other high‑traffic zones remain safe and clean. This position is essential for maintaining safe access and supporting the overall housekeeping standards across Austal’s shipbuilding facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine sweeping of walkways, stairwells, hardstand areas and access routes.
• Operate and maintain industrial push‑sweeping equipment and brooms to remove debris.
• Keep all walkways free of trip hazards, dust and loose material.
• Perform cleaning rounds in line with site housekeeping standards.
• Maintain cleaning equipment in good working order and report any faults.
• Support general housekeeping tasks as required.

Required profile

• Hold a valid Construction Industry White Card.
• Be eligible for a Defence Security Clearance.

Required skills

• Operation of industrial push‑sweeping equipment.
• Use of brooms and manual cleaning tools for large industrial floorspaces.
