Hospital Pharmacist – Permanent Position with Residency Program

About the role

Join the Northwest Hospitals Pharmacy Department to deliver comprehensive pharmacy services for inpatients and outpatients across Burnie and Latrobe. This permanent role offers a structured 2‑year Residency Training Program to support your clinical development.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense medications for inpatient, outpatient and discharge supply in line with legal requirements.
• Operate within the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, Special Access Scheme, Section 100, clinical trial protocols and Early Access Schemes.
• Provide verbal and written medicines information and health advice to patients.
• Supply medication information to hospital staff and assist in building their pharmacological knowledge.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
• Willingness to work shift patterns up to 76 hours per fortnight across two hospital sites.
• Early‑career pharmacists or experienced pharmacists new to hospital practice.
• Strong collaborative attitude with medical, nursing and allied‑health teams.

Required skills

• Medication dispensing.
• Patient counselling.
• Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).
• Knowledge of the Special Access Scheme (SAS) and Section 100.
• Experience with clinical‑trial medication management and Early Access Schemes.

What we offer

• Permanent full‑time position (up to 76 hrs per fortnight).
• Salary $73,834 – $111,364 per annum plus 12% superannuation.
